A new breed of Arachnid bred to combat the Mobile Infantry, this beast comes in two distinct sub-species.
Mantis assassin bugs have been developed to target individuals on the battlefield, approach them stealthily and then destroy them in short order. Targets often include heavy weapons teams, CHAS units, Marauders and officers identified by their increased communications traffic.
The mantis hunter bug fulfils a similar role to its assassin counterpart but replaces the sometimes suicidal leaping attack with a chameleonic carapace that allows it to use its innate stealth skills to the full. Whereas the mantis assassin bug will charge through a hail of fire on a battlefield, if necessary to reach its target, the mantis hunter bug will move far slower, moving form cover to cover as it closes in with its prey.
These two miniatures are very similar. Both share the same body, torso, and rear legs. The Hunter version (first photo) has a smaller head and slightly smaller forelimbs, while the Assassin (second photo) has separate jaw pieces and different front legs. Please select which version you prefer from the drop-down list. If you don't specify one, you'll get a random choice.
There is no stand for this unit as none is needed; it stands on its own once properly assembled.
- Note: Miniatures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, brushes, glue, etc. are not included.
